Homework: Continue to work on your timeline homework. This
assignment will be due June 3rd. The reading log and
math packet are due on Friday. Please return them in the yellow folder. Please
make sure you sign your
child’s reading log.
Please
send your child to school with a water bottle. Is is easier for the students to
get drinks than to have to leave the room.
Sing
and Swing is on Thursday at 2:00.
Language Arts: We will work with oo/oo words in our word work. Our opinion writing focus
continues. We will begin to focus on informative writing later this week.
Mathematics: We will begin chapter 18 on lines and surfaces. Please
see the School to Home connection sheet.
Cursive: We will finish our kite string letters.
Science: We will work solids this week. Students will learn about
the vocabulary words that are used to describe solid materials. These words
include flexible, rigid, smooth, rough, soft, hard, colored pointed, flat,
transparent, opaque and translucent.
Ways you can help at home: Read and talk about
the most important part in the story and why you think that was the most
important. Look for oo/oo words. Identify
solid materials. Describe the characteristics that make it a solid.
