on Thursday.
Please return it in your Yellow Reading Log/Math Homework Folder.
Language Arts: We will read the book our Scholastic News Magazines.
One is on Johnny Appleseed and the other is on marmoset Monkeys. The class will
practice how to Read to Someone. We will discuss nonfiction text features. We
continue to read about life cycle of a frog. The children will work on opinion
writing. We will learn about compound words and two syllable words.
Mathematics: We will be adding three digit numbers with regrouping in
the ones and tens. We will have a problem solving day and focus on the steps to
take when solving a word problem. We will be reviewing chapter 2 on addition
with regrouping. We will be taking our test on it on Thursday.
Science: We will continue to read and study the life cycle of a
frog. Your child will be expected to know the four stages and at least two
important facts that help explain that stage. You are encouraged to talk about
it together. I am hoping we will be ready to have a quiz on it on Thursday.
Social Studies: We will talk about Columbus Day. We will use our map
skills to find where Columbus went on his voyage.
